An Exclusive Insurance Program for Community Action Agencies

The Economic Opportunity Act of 1964, designed to fight America’s war on poverty, ushered in the establishment of Community Action Agencies (CAAs) throughout the United States to help individuals and families achieve self-sufficiency. These non-profit private and public organizations are a primary source for more than 34.5 million people who live in poverty in our country, according to the Community Action Partnership. Today, there are more than 1,000 CAAs operating in the U.S., which include food banks, battered women’s shelters, rape crisis centers, thrift stores, halfway houses, Goodwill, and Volunteers of America, among many others.
